English exam help, especially for IELTS and TOEFL is very important. These are the most globally recognized assessments for the English Language. With a satisfactory score, you can easily get accepted into top universities and even be awarded visas for studying or living abroad. Over the past five years, I have helped many students in various countries achieve their target score, making their dreams come true.
I have had many students wishing to move to Australia, who required a high score on the IELTS. Others required it to study for a degree in the UK, the USA or Canada.
Each of these tests includes sections focusing on the four aspects of English exam help: reading, writing, speaking and listening.
For the listening section, I always recommend students listen to audio books regarding a topic for which they have good vocabulary or wish to develop upon (a good selection is found on Audible.com). Audio books are great for listening while driving. Students can also listen to the radio in English, watch movies, TV shows and documentaries etc. in English. At least one hour per day of listening to English will be greatly helpful. For homework, students can take a few notes on what they listened to, new words the discovered or phrases they had problems understanding. In class, we’ll review your listening and use it as part of a lesson.
If you must use subtitles while watching TV or movies, it is okay! Preferably you can read the English subtitles (not subtitles in your own language, however there are benefits to that as well).
The idea when learning a language is to start “thinking” in that language. Plenty of practice will keep English fresh in your mind, and help you to become fluent. By “thinking” in the language, students start to express themselves more freely in speaking and writing, without needing to analyze small points.
This is like riding a bike or swimming; once you can do it you’ll be able to move around more freely. English exam help online, gets you started!
As for the speaking section of your IELTS, TOEFL or TOEIC exam there is one main strategy we use in class. It involves letting the student answer questions as if we were in a real test situation. While the student answers, your English tutor writes down notes concerning all that can be improved. Finally, we discuss the grammar points that must be corrected. We also practice improving pronunciation mistakes, following an overall evaluation with suggestions regarding strategy for an improved score.
By listening for and recording patterns in your reading and writing which require attention – we can then address those mistakes to improve future communications.
For writing, you will use a similar study approach to that of speaking. The student will submit English Skype Teacher their writing sample. If you do not have one yet, we will send you questions and instructions for your English exam help.
After taking time to write an answer to your sample test questions, we can review your answers in following classes.
Together, we can look at the teacher’s screen editing your written passage with Microsoft World Track Changes.
We can make all kinds of corrections regarding:
- Which words to use and avoid; which make your writing “sound” more smart and fluent.
- How to make the essay flow.
- The structure of a written passage.
- Grammar, usage, tenses and punctuation.
- Focusing on the topic at hand, answering the question without straying.
- Using the right mix of complex and simple sentences.
